The students who were recently selected for the U21 Canoe Polo Development squad made use of the dual projector facility in the Yang Science Centre for video analysis of their forward paddling technique. The majority of strokes undertaken in kayaking involve a variant of the forward stroke and so being able to paddle efficiently here is essential.
With a video camera streaming themselves live to one screen they were able to mimic the technique on the exemplar video and add marker points on the whiteboard for the positions their hands and body should hit at different parts of the stroke. The team were successful last weekend in the British Canoeing South Youth League winning 4/5 matches and look forward to the next fixture in January.
