At the beginning of December, the joint forces of pupils from St Helen and St Katharine and Abingdon Schools alongside the adults of the Joint Choral society performed Handel’s epic oratorio, ‘Messiah’. With an orchestra principally composed of pupils from both schools, a wonderful chorus of 100 delivered this story of Christ. Special mention must go to our soloists, a number of pupils who had grappled with the immense vocal challenges of singing such a work. This was a fitting celebration of the season of Advent and the JCS looks forward to working towards performance of Mozart’s Requiem next term.
