In our Joint Literary Society session with St Helen’s this week, Edward Saunders in the Lower Sixth ran a fascinating session on politics and morals in the stories of Dr Seuss. Not only did students from Abingdon and St Helen’s learn about the influence of fascism on Dr Seuss’ work, but we also discovered that we’ve been pronouncing his name wrong all this time (it rhymes with ‘voice’)!
