International success for the Miell-Ingram brothers
On Saturday Rowan (U6) and Quinn (5th Year) travelled to Belfast to compete in the Northern Ireland International cross country meet which combined both the World Athletic event and the fourth round of the British Cross Challenge Series.
Competing in the U17 category, Quinn ran maturely and was the first Englishman across the line in 7th place. This performance sees him move well inside the top 10 in the overall series rankings with only 1 race to go.
Competing in the U20 age group, Rowan faced stiff opposition who were representing their home nations. Positioning himself smartly in the front group, Rowan was the highest ranked club athlete, with those around him running in national vests. He gauged his effort superbly creating a gap from the main group of chasing athletes on the final lap. He finished in 4th place, behind Sam Mills (England), Dean Casey (Ireland) and Scott Fagan (Ireland) and in doing so, has been selected to run for England. He will make his international debut in Belgium in early February.
Huge congratulations are extended to them both for their continued commitment and dedication to training and racing.
