Alexander Wakefield in the Fourth Year has had one of his photographs placed runner up in a national competition to design the front cover of a catalogue for Specialist Crafts Art Supplies. Alex received £50 and will have his work displayed in the company’s advertising campaign.
Alex says, “While walking through the woods I saw a beam of light seeping through the branches onto a puddle of decaying leaves. I was inspired by one of Andy Goldsworthy’s pieces where he uses reflections in the water, so I decided to explore this idea. I wanted to capture the transience of life, light and colour during autumn and how disorder and order can portray life and death in nature.”
