Over the course of two days every member of Lower School had the opportunity to spend some time at a workshop run by the charity I Can and I Am on their amazingly fitted-out double decker bus. Half the session was spent learning how to make a pizza, which as well as being very tasty demonstrated that there are some activities that we can all enjoy together and give us the chance to be creative, and the other half in a conversation with members of the charity to promote self-belief and wellbeing. Using the imagery of a balloon, everyone chatted about how we can keep our self-belief fully-inflated by doing the things that we enjoy and make us feel we belong, accepting that we are all intelligent in different ways and have different strengths, and learning from setbacks and challenges.
