Last week, three pupils from the Lower Sixth travelled to London for the annual All-Party Parliamentary Engineering Group debate and lunch, at the House of Lords. The debate topic was on ‘Driverless Vehicles’, and we heard from speakers including the Chief Scientific Advisor for the Department for Transport, and the founder of Oxa Autonomous Vehicles. The debate was chaired by Professor The Lord Mair, and included discussions on topics from safety and accessibility, to public perception and ethics.
