A group of lower sixth boys enjoyed a physics trip to the House of Lords to discuss nuclear energy. Despite initial delays in public transport, the group managed to arrive at the venue in time for a very extravagant three course meal. The event comprised of talks by professionals in the nuclear industry on the subject of becoming carbon neutral by 2050. Guests ranged from other school pupils to MPs and lords, which gave great depth to table conversation. Ideas mentioned by the speakers were scrutinised by the guests, including two questions from us that challenged assumptions made by the speakers. Overall it was a very enjoyable trip with the six of us now able to say we know a lord.
