On a gloriously hot and sunny Saturday evening, 500 students, parents and staff enjoyed a final swansong at the annual Griffen Ball.

The evening began with a drinks reception on the lawn listening to the wonderful sounds of the jazz band comprising three upper sixth students and the Headmaster. Roving magicians entertained guests whilst drinks were served, and their sleight of hand entertainment carried on during dinner at guests' tables.

After a wonderful meal, the real entertainment began. Guests could chance their luck on the casino tables, enjoy a spin on the dodgems, take flight on the Star Flyer, or – if they were feeling really brave – enjoy the challenges of a rodeo bull and of course an excellent DJ ensured that the dance floor was full all night long.

Guests could pick from a selection of offerings from the new Gin Bar, and even try the Griffen Gin Fizz,  which was of course pink!

It was a very fitting end to the boys' time at the school and everyone went home tired, but having had a very enjoyable time.
