Last Wednesday, our highly talented Lower Sixth French linguists went to Abingdon Prep to run a session with Year 3 and 4 on French playground games. They had previously planned the session and in pairs were responsible for a group of 12 pupils. After a few icebreaking activities, they played ‘canard, canard, oie’ (duck, duck, goose), ‘un-deux-trois-soleil’ (granny’s footsteps) and ‘l’épervier’ (a highly tactical and competitive tag game). All involved had a fantastic time and it was fabulous to see the Lower Sixth students share their love of French language and culture with the younger pupils. What a great way for both French departments to collaborate and à l’année prochaine!
