The final week of the Football season before half term started with the annual U12 6-a-side fixtures against Our Lady’s Abingdon. Playing only their third game for the school the U12s demonstrated their great potential, moving the ball freely to feet whilst creating numerous opportunities on their way to two convincing wins at both A and B team, 4-0 and 13-0 respectively. The way these two U12 sides moved the ball is certainly encouraging and they will certainly be an age group to keep an eye on in the second half of term.

Moving onto the final day of the first half of term, and at Tilsley Park, Abingdon Football Club hosted their first and very own Friday Night Lights. On what was a freezing evening for football, the Abingdon 1st XI welcomed their counterparts from Magdalen College with a great deal of excitement and anticipation. In a fiercely contested encounter, the Abingdon side took the lead mid way through the first half when Elliot Dandridge latched onto a set piece from Patrick Leggett, firing the ball home from close range. Despite not creating as many opportunities as they would have liked the Abingdon side continued to control the game, dominating possession and moving the ball with pleasing control. 1-0 to Abingdon the final score, and a pleasing way for the side to finish what has been a very promising first half of term.

Thank you as ever for your continued support on the touchline.
