14 December 2020
In a normal year the popular FASBC calendar would feature scenes from the season’s rowing. Alas, most of the 2020 season was lost to Covid-19. However, nothing daunted FASBC which has compiled a wonderful collection of images from the School’s rowing past creatively divided into monthly themes.
January shows photographs of the nineteenth century Club. Parental riverbank support, from the 1890s to the present-day, features in March. September shows us some past boathouses, including one being built by the boys in 1911 and the team of parents and professionals who worked together on today’s. November appropriately remembers members of the 1914 Club who lost their lives in the First World War, and December rounds off with past Christmas celebrations on the river.
Let’s hope this 2021 calendar can be marked up with a full season’s rowing fixtures – fingers crossed!
