To wrap up our topic on microorganisms (microbes), First Year was tasked with getting creative and making a model to represent an aspect of their learning. Making models is an important part of biology as it allows us to appreciate structures in 3D and consider how their 3D structure is related to function. They were encouraged to use any available resource at home and in addition, submit an evaluation of their work.
Possible options covered:
- Different types of microbes
- Diseases caused by microbes and how they spread
- Antibiotics and antibiotic resistance
- The protoctist that causes malaria and its lifecycle
There was a fabulous range of ideas and representations and here are some of the images.
