On Saturday the Cross Country Club competed at the ESAA national cup final at Princethorpe College. The 600 teams that entered the competition in September had been whittled down to 27 and the technical and hilly course was also wet and muddy. Edward ran the race of his life to lead the Inters home in 17th place. Noah, Arthur, Henry, Harry and Patrick battled hard on the tough course to secure a team 17th. The Seniors ran a tactically excellent race with the four counting runners within 30 seconds of each other. Harry led the team home in 33rd, with captain Ralph close behind. Fast finishes from Hugh & Quinlan pushed the team up the field for a 10th place finish, with Peter & Isam taking places from rival teams. To legitimately call ourselves a top 10 cross country school in the nation is a serious achievement & a reward for four months of training.
