Justin Chow has successfully reared his Golden Hierodula sp. mantis to the Adult form. This insect is 11cm long and is a ferocious predator. George Simonson captured a Pnigomantis medioconstricta mantis feeding on a locust today. Notice how the sharp mandibles make short work of the locust exoskeleton. This particular species is capable of feeding on small mammals like mice.
