The Cross-country Club rounded off the first half term in fine form with both the Junior and Intermediate teams qualifying for the regional round of the English Schools Championships.
In the junior race Thomas Mennie led out the field with the pack of Abingdon runners tucked in close behind. He kept the pace high and held on for the win just ahead of Alexander Darbishire who finished in 2nd place. Abingdon finished with a total of 26 points gaining first position overall.

The intermediate race was also controlled by the Abingdon team with Rowan Miell-Ingram commanding the lead from start to finish. Excellent performances from Johnny James, William D’Arcy, Henry Channon, Seb McAllan and Josh Broadbent resulted in the whole team finishing within the top 10 runners and taking the overall team victory with 11 points, a full 30 points ahead of the second placed school.
