A group of lower sixth students spent the day at the University of Southampton Electronic Engineering and Computer Science department. This involved a morning workshop prototyping a heart beat monitor on breadboards followed by a campus tour. In the afternoon they had a tour of the clean rooms used to create silicon chips and fibre optics.
