A group of 11 departing Abingdon and SHSK Upper Sixth students took a piece of new writing to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August under the name of The Griffen Collective. Written by now OATed Smethurst, Antiques tells the story of a young couple Sam and Lucy who move to the countryside, searching for a peaceful rural lifestyle. They arrive in the village of Little Dickingsworth: picture perfect and untouched by modern life but the villagers don’t play nice with strangers. The Absurdist comedy had a week-long residence at Lime Studio in Nicolson square and played to large audiences every day. Around the production, the cast were flyering on the Royal Mile and seeing performances of their own! A great time was had by all!
