On the last Monday of the Lent term, the Chapel Choir were honoured to sing Choral Evensong at the magnificent Coventry Cathedral. Although the original Cathedral was left in ruins from the Coventry Blitz of 1940, the present modernist structure provides a glorious setting to sing with its generous acoustics, and on this occasion, the choir performed Brewer in D and Tallis’ If Ye Love Me. As ever, Philip Kimber provided sensitive accompaniment on the organ and the choir looked resplendent in their Abingdon Choir Gowns. It’s a busy week, as the Chapel Choir will perform again in the School Choirs Evening this Thursday at 6pm in our own chapel. Do join us!
