Since last term, the students in the 4th year Chinese class have made 'pen pal' contacts with students at Taiyuan No.12 Middle School in Shanxi Sheng, China. The boys have been writing letters in Chinese characters which Ms Zhang has then reviewed and compiled before sending off to the Chinese school's English teacher, Hongmei Wang (who was Abingdon's Chinese language assistant in 2015-2016).
To build on this, the boys were keen to prepare a video to send to the Chinese school to celebrate Chinese New Year which is a topic covered by their GCSE learning this term. This was coordinated by Xiaoling Hu, the Chinese Language assistant.
