The Chapel Choir made the fairly long journey to Coventry Cathedral on Tuesday to sing evensong in a beautiful setting.
Despite the rain, the boys were inspired by the story of the Cathedral’s rebuild after the Second World War, explained to us by an enthusiastic verger. The singers quickly adjusted to the cavernous space of the Cathedral and sung with gusto even in the rehearsal.
They performed a responses setting by Thomas Tallis, Jubilate Deo by Benjamin Britten and James Chung took on the wonderful Baritone solo in Dyson’s setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in D. The members of the Chapel Choir were a credit to the School and extremely grateful for the opportunity to perform in such a magnificent building – an incredible experience with a fantastic performance.
