Last week, 8 different chamber groups had a workshop with some of the music teachers, in preparation for the Pro Corda National Chamber Music Competition. The first round for this competition is this Wednesday.
The chamber groups involved in this workshop were string quartets, cello groups, a brass quartet and a piano quartet. 28 pupils played a wide variety of repertoire, including Mozart, Beethoven, Gabrieli, Kabalevsky and a few others. These workshops are incredibly important in getting the musicians not only to a much higher standard for the competition, but it always builds their confidence. All of them worked really hard and we are proud of the dedication they showed, regardless of what happens in the competition next week.
