Eight 4th year students successfully completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Canoeing Training last weekend. The rigorous training program commenced with an intensive capsize and rescue session, ensuring the students were well-prepared for any unforeseen circumstances on the water. With their newly acquired skills, the adventurous group embarked on a paddling expedition from the School Boathouse, navigating their way up to the historic city of Oxford. At the campsite, they honed their camp craft abilities, gaining valuable knowledge about setting up camp and thriving in an outdoor environment.
The following day, the determined students paddled back to the boathouse, filled with excitement and confidence as they eagerly anticipate their forthcoming assessment expedition in June. This successful training experience has undoubtedly equipped them with the essential skills and resilience necessary for their future outdoor pursuits.
