The ancient historians of the 4th Year and Upper 6th travelled to the British Museum to see the Persian, Assyrian and Greek artefacts housed there. It was great to see the Cyrus Cylinder for real, as well as casts of the Apadana staircase from Persepolis, important evidence for the GCSE course. Comparing the Assyrian and Babylonian precedents helped the pupils to see how the Persians appropriated certain cultural features, while rejecting others. The Upper 6th meanwhile explored the Parthenon Frieze.
