Bedford Star Regatta

21 June 2018

As the seniors turn their attention toward Henley Royal Regatta, the younger years went in force to Bedford Star Regatta for some duel-style racing.

The J15s kicked off the day well, bringing home wins in the A and B 4+ events. The J14 B 4x+ made the final of their event, having a very close race with Norwich which made for great watching for the parents and supporters.

Both the J14 C octuple and the J15 C eight frustratingly lost out in the semi finals of their B events, to Bedford School crews on their home turf. The J14 B 8x+ went out in the quarter finals to eventual winners Bedford, with the J14 Ds also going out to another Bedford crew.

However, the J14 A 8x+ came away with another win against Bedford by a solid margin, which started a further string of victories from the J15s, winning both the A and B 8+ events.

A great day’s racing had by all, and lots of silverware to bring back to the Boathouse.
