The first years were off timetable on Friday for their Be More Griffen Day. The morning focussed on sessions designed to help the boys develop their organisational and study skills with tips on how to approach their work from Mrs Beynon, Head of Learning Support, and Mr Treadaway, Director of eLearning, and an explanation of the 4Rs and GROW model, which will help them analyse their performance and set their own goals. A presentation on the history of the school by Mrs Wearne, the School Archivist, followed which included an explanation of why the griffen is associated with Abingdon. The day was rounded off with an afternoon of team building activities where the boys had to show a combination of good communication skills and problem solving to meet the challenges set by their tutors.
