Saturday saw Abingdon play Stowe, with the 1st VIII away at Stowe and the 2nd VIII home at Abingdon. The first team faced strong opposition, Stowe’s first pair were very capable and Abingdon was somewhat weakened by the absence of one of our key players. Despite that the students put in a valiant effort and managed to hold Stowe to an 8-8 draw. The 2nd VIII fared much better and put in a stellar performance, taking the fixture 15-1. The depth in the club is excellent and I am sure that many of the 2nd VIII players will be knocking on the door of the first team. Well done all, great effort.
