On Saturday, Abingdon badminton players took on St Edward’s in both home and away fixtures. A number of the 1st VIII were unavailable as they were playing in an external tournament. This meant that several B team players stepped up into the As and some players from our development squad were able to play their first representative match in the B team. Both teams did fantastically well with the As securing a 13-3 win and the Bs going even further with a 15-1 victory. At the same time Gordon and Thierry played in an open doubles tournament and put on a superb display. They won gold and are now U19 open doubles champions for the region.
