Abingdon’s ATOM Festival of Science and Technology 2019 is only a few weeks away and looks to be the most exciting and varied programme of events in the Festival’s history so far.
The ASP has been chosen as one of the Festival’s official headline sponsors this year, along with the UK Atomic Energy Authority, Oxford Instruments and Bright Sparks Science. This reflects the enormous support that Abingdon School provides for the Festival, including use of the Amey Theatre and the Yang Science Centre for the popular Family Science Fair on the final Sunday.
In addition, many of our Science Ambassadors volunteer to help with events and contribute to the newly formed ATOM Student Ambassador group, led by ASP’s Graduate Assistant, Megan Milarski.
This year’s ATOM Festival sees major events being hosted at several of Abingdon’s schools, including St Helen and St Katharine, Fitzharrys, Larkmead and Our Lady’s. The reputation of the Festival is also growing nationally with groups from as far away as Sheffield and Bath asking for opportunities to take part.
The ATOM Festival would not be possible without a lot of hard work by the dedicated team of volunteers who meet monthly throughout the year to organise the events.
