The Middle School production – an adaptation of George Orwell’s classic Animal Farm – saw a record number of students auditioning, 30 being cast on stage and nearly 20 working behind the scenes. The world of the play was expanded with additional characters and creative staging ideas. The team tackled exciting challenges such as portraying animals, bridging the human–animal divide, and building (and destroying) a windmill, supported by the technical crew. Early steampunk ideas gradually shifted toward a darker, dystopian aesthetic that shaped the look and feel of the animals and the world they inhabited.

This vision came to life through striking set and lighting design, complemented by a mechanical, atmospheric soundtrack that deepened the tone of the production. The cast and backstage crew poured exceptional energy and creativity into every performance, resulting in a production the entire team can be proud of.
