The first fruits of the Abingdon Film Unit’s partnership with students and colleagues at Larkmead School have recently arrived in the form of a short film made by five Larkmead students with assistance from AFU tutor Duncan Pickstock.
The film was made in support of the Visual and Performing Arts department at Larkmead, and aims to promote the quality and variety of work being done by students and staff there under the guidance of Mrs Andrea Phillips, Larkmead’s Head of Visual and Performing Arts. The film was undertaken as a skills development exercise for the five Larkmead students who joined the AFU’s Film Academy programme in October last year.
It serves as an appropriate curtain-raiser for the premiere later this term of all the films made by our partnership Film Academy students over the last year in what will be a joint AFA / AFU screening.
We will confirm final details of the event shortly, but the provisional date for the screening is Monday 2 December at 7pm at the Abbey Cinema in the heart of Abingdon. Make a note in your diaries now!
