Our Modern Foreign Languages department promotes language learning both for its own sake and also for the benefit of the transferable skills acquired. We strongly encourage students to become independent, ambitious and reflective learners. In the First Year, all students study French and German, with options to add either Spanish and/or Mandarin by the Third Year. At least one modern foreign language has to be studied to GCSE. We offer French, German and Spanish at A Level, with express GCSE options also available at Sixth Form.
