Geography is a compulsory subject up to the end of Third Year, then optional for GCSE and A Level. It is a social science that complements a wide range of subjects, providing an excellent basis for a contemporary education and widening career opportunities through integral research, analysis and communication skills.

We aim to instil a spirit of inquiry and encourage pupils to be curious about the world, thinking analytically and critically about both human and physical geography and current global issues.

The department features one of the country’s first dedicated GIS suites (Geographic Information System) and we have a dedicated support co-ordinator to help deliver our ambitious programme. Regular field excursions are integral, including overseas trips for Sixth Form and Middle School to destinations like Iceland and the Azores.
