On the first Sunday of the half term holiday a group of boys ranging from the Lower School to Sixth Form competed in the Abingdon Vale Biathlon for a chance to qualify for the British Modern Biathlon Championships.
Pupils competed in the Abingdon pool over a distance of 50m-200m, before travelling to Tilsley Park to compete on the track over a distance of 800m-1600m depending on their given age group.
Henry Barlow was the stand out performer on the track, winning his 1600m heat in a time of 4min 56.
Congratulations must be extended to Ben MacLennan, Freddie Cunningham and Henry Barlow for reaching the qualifying standard and booking their place into the British Championship final. The event will be held on 25 and 26 November at the Tudor Grange Leisure Centre, Blossomfield Road, Solihull.
