On a bitterly cold January afternoon a large squad of Abingdon runners made the short trip to Radley to compete in the County Championships to try and earn the title of County Champions and a place in the Oxfordshire team that will compete at the National Cross-Country Championship in Leeds on 16 March.
The Juniors took to the course first and set the standard with a total of 5 boys securing a place in the 8 man Oxfordshire team. Johnny James and Will d'Arcy obliterated the field and crossed the line together in equal first. Special mention must also go to Alexander Darbishire who finished in 7th place despite still only being in the Second Year. His sights must surely be on the individual win next year.
