European Day of Languages started in September 2001 with the aim of celebrating linguistic diversity across Europe. To celebrate 20 years since its creation, we asked a number of our bilingual pupils at Abingdon to tell us what they like here at school in a different language. Other events marking this important day have run throughout the week, including a European-themed dining hall menu, tutor time challenges, badges for staff with ‘hello’ printed in different languages, and a special chapel service focusing on the importance of having an international outlook.
