Pupils from the Year 5 class at St Mary's, Henley came on their first visit to the Abingdon Science Partnership laboratory for a morning of Chemistry and Physics investigations. The 24 pupils were accompanied by their teachers, including Mrs Marika Perkins an Abingdon School parent. They enjoyed a morning of hands on activities involving measuring chemical reactions and heating rates and were very excited to be dressed in lab coats, safety goggles and using Bunsen burners. They will be returning for a second science morning in June. Later, in the afternoon, ASP also hosted the Caldecott Year 2 Wrens class for the award of their CREST Star Science Investigator certificates, whilst a parallel workshop on Photosynthesis was being run for Year 3 at St Nicolas' Primary in the ASP Lab. Once again, such a busy day of workshops would not have been possible without the assistance of teachers from all three science departments, the fantastic technician team and sixth form Science Ambassadors Alex Moss and Dan Rohll who volunteered to help.
