After months of waiting and checking the weather forecast every night, the sky was finally clear enough for the first A Level Physics Astronomy Evening of the year! A group of Lower Sixth physicists gathered on the field, after an introductory session on how to use the telescopes, and were able to take some amazing photos: Jupiter and its moons, the Orion nebula, and several constellations. Our robotic Stellina telescope also captured the Orion nebula and the Whirlpool Galaxy. GCSE Astronomy pupils from the Fourth Year were finally able to get some data for their coursework observing projects. We hope for better weather in the coming weeks for more stargazing opportunities!
