Abingdon’s clay shooting teams enjoyed a fantastic day at EJ Churchill for the Harrow ‘Fido May Trophy’. Comprising mostly Lower Sixth students, the A team (Fred, Norwyn, Oli, and Cosmo) and B team (Ed, Angus, Henry, and Theo) tackled eight challenging stands and a 50-clay team flurry.

High winds made for some unpredictable targets, and there was a particularly tricky 60mm mini clay from the platform stand. The students shot very well in the conditions, with Fred getting the highest score from our groups with 35/50, closely followed by joint second place for Cosmo and Norwyn at 34/50.

This was only the second outing for the clay shooting team and the A team placed 11th out of 31 which was really excellent. The B team placed 21st, also a strong showing considering the squads experience.
