Compulsory to GCSE and optional at A Level, the Physics Department aims to encourage students to think critically, develop problem solving skills and to promote experimental and investigative work. We deliver an academically rigorous course whilst ensuring that lessons are innovative and interactive. Interesting recent developments in the fields of Physics and Engineering, such as gravitational waves, are interwoven with more traditional topics to ensure that students are aware of the future of Physics as well as the cornerstone discoveries of the past. This gives students the opportunity to further develop their investigative skills with a very hands-on practical based course.
