Over 35 children from six local primary schools joined our A Level Business students and teachers for a day of creativity and collaboration at the annual Primary Business Challenge. The day saw teams design the ultimate festive treat in a high energy business experience.

Under the guidance of their Abingdon student mentors, the primary students were budding entrepreneurs, tackling every aspect of bringing a product to market:

  • Product Design: Developing the treat itself, focusing on festive appeal and taste.
  • Packaging: Creating eye-catching, informative, and functional packaging.
  • Marketing Strategy: Devising a plan to promote and sell their unique creation.
  • Pitch & Presentation: Preparing a compelling pitch to present their finished concept to the judges.

After a hearty lunch in the pavilion, the atmosphere was electric as the primary school teams delivered their final presentations. Our excellent panel of judges, including Mr Windsor, were highly impressed by the range of ideas, confidence and detail provided by the teams.

One participant said ‘I loved it, it built courage in me, was character building and taught me leadership and teamwork.’ Another commented, ‘It was incredibly fun and exciting, thank you very much.’

The event successfully provided a valuable introduction to the business world, enhancing skills in teamwork, public speaking, creativity, and problem-solving.
