First Year pupils had an enjoyable visit to Corinium Museum, in the modern town of Cirencester. There were many highlights for the pupils, including beautiful mosaics of interesting myths, such as Actaeon and Orpheus, tombstones of the diverse people who lived and died in Roman Britain (a 6-year old, a 75-year old, a Swiss soldier, a Celtic woman called Bodicacia), which we used to practise our Latin skills, and a unique die-sized cube with beautiful decoration on each face. The workshop, which focused on the lives of six different people who lived in Roman Corinium was the best one we have experienced.
