A local pack of Cubs visited us on Monday for a Science Partnership pond dipping session. Exploring the ‘rill’ outside the Yang Science Centre, they found pond snails, water boatmen, beetle larvae, leeches, pond skaters, and even baby newts! We took some of the wriggling specimens back into the lab to look at under a microscope, before returning them to the pond. It was a fun and interesting evening – for the Cubs, their parents, and even grandparents alike.
