The senior tennis team has continued their strong run of performances in recent weeks including a good victory against MCS 6 sets to 3 as well as reaching the 3rd round of the national cup before being overcome by a very strong Claire’s Court Team. There was also the opportunity to play in a friendly mixed doubles competition with SHSK where tennis was the ultimate winner.

It is in the U15s where we have seen the most success, comfortably winning the Oxfordshire league by a net score of 17 sets for and just 1 against meaning Abingdon have once again qualified for the regional knockout rounds next term. They have also won the OXIST competition and the U15A team reached the semi final of the Eton Junior Pairs competition, losing in the semi finals to a strong Eton team by just one game. It was also pleasing to see such strength in depth with our U15B team drawing with Bradfield’s U15A and beating Radley’s U15A.

The U14s and lower school players are continuing to improve and we look forward to finishing our season with block fixtures against Warwick and Bradfield before the ISTA festival at the end of term.
