On Thursday the Abingdon School swimming team went to Charterhouse to compete in a swimming competition. We had three teams there which included the junior team, the intermediate team and the senior team. After an arduous water polo match against an extremely strong Charterhouse team, a number of the swimmers went on to compete individually in the Charterhouse, Harrow and Abingdon gala.

Everyone performed exceptionally well but there were a number of stand out performances across the age groups with some school records being broken. These performances include Joe Watkiss, who broke the 100m breaststroke school record in a time of 1:10:97 along with winning the 200 IM. The cannon relay, consisting of Ethan, Ralph, Charlie, Chung Nam, Chris and Alex, also managed to take down the previous school record in a time of 2:46:53. All the relay teams swam strongly coming home in fast times, increasing the experience and confidence of all the boys involved.

Overall it was a very enjoyable and successful day, and thank you to Mr Mason!
