The Abingdon School Investment Trading Club (AITC) hosted the third annual stock pitch competition in May. Over thirty students from the Third Year to Sixth Form pitched their ‘Best Stock to Buy or Short’ to a team of expert judges:
- Dom Spalding – Director at Expert Wealth Management
- Stuart Bartholomew – Director at Craven Street Wealth
- Ben Armitage – Investment Analyst at Evenlode
Dom kindly gifted books to the winners, that are given to his team at Expert Wealth Management. Commenting on the winner of the Third and Fourth Year prize, Ben mentioned that the presentation was “en par with final year university students that have to do a pitch as part of their interview to work at Evenlode”. Stuart at Craven Street Wealth along with the other judges said they were keen to come back and deliver talks at AITC meetings.
Opening the event the Head thanked Joao Filipe for his outstanding leadership skills in planning and delivering the competition – en par with the former London Stock Exchange Competition. The Other Half weekly AITC sessions that students attend provide them with highly valuable skills and knowledge for pursuing a related degree or career in the City.
