Abingdon’s senior squash team travelled to Marlborough last week to take on a traditionally strong squad. We fielded our top six players for the first time this season: Felix, Alex, Luke, Will, Alex and Wilf. Marlborough were indeed strong, but it was a fixture that showed how much we have developed in the last year. As is becoming traditional, Will had the longest battle, coming back from 0-2 down to win 3-2. The first string match was always going to be of high quality, and the Marlborough number one was indeed a very fine player; but Felix stepped up to show the standard he has reached with a dominant display of accurate and intelligent squash, and he triumphed 3-0. All our other players won their matches comprehensively, and we achieved a clean sweep of 6-0. This means that our team remains undefeated this season even after taking on challenging opposition. We look forward to the second half of the term!
