This week the whole school, including teachers, took part in the biennial sponsored walk to raise money for this year’s chosen charities: Thames Valley Air Ambulance and WaterAid. The walk comprised a 10-mile circular route from school taking in sections of the Oxfordshire Greenbelt Way and the Thames Path.

The proceeds from the walk will be split between the two charities:

Thames Valley Air Ambulance (TVAA)

It costs TVAA £3,900 to send their helicopter on each mission. They are an independent charity and receive no government or national lottery funding, relying solely on donations from generous supporters.

WaterAid

WaterAid provides clean water, decent toilets and hygiene knowledge to people who don’t yet have access to them. Access to clean water and toilets is a human right and should be a normal part of daily life for everyone, everywhere.

As it stands, with GiftAid, we have currently raised £28,275. If you would still like to donate please do so via www.abingdon.org.uk/sponsoredwalk2023.
