Our Lower School played Oratory Prep School on the Saturday with all matches away due to hard ground. The U13s A and B played really well against a physically strong OPS. Close matches in the U12s and wins, but again our boys learning a lot and trying to play with the skills that are being developed every week. They play again this Tuesday.
Our Middle and Upper School played Sherborne School in a block fixture. Unfortunately due to the hard ground a few home matches had to be cancelled. However, our U14s played superbly well in four fixtures and although we won the A and B matches all games were close and the style of rugby starting to be played is terrific.
The U15s have embraced the new coaching development style with boys rotating positions to develop and challenge their skills. The Bs narrowly lost a close match at Tilsley Park, with the A team winning in a tight encounter on Waste Court.
Our U16s were similar with close matches and although they were not on the right side of the result, they have improved immeasurably this half term. Credit to the boys and staff. Our seniors found the day at the office tough. Away against strong Sherborne sides and we did not start well. There was a tremendous fight back second half in all three matches, but the opposition were better on the day.
Over half term our U15s head to the Langley Festival and our U14s head to Worcester for a tour. We all look forward to the post half term fixtures of Eton, Radley, RGS High Wycombe, RGS Guildford and Bedford.
Information regarding the end of season awards evenings will be sent out soon.
