Last Saturday a group of staff and sixth formers had planned to use the ergo suite in the Sports Centre to undertake a sponsored challenge to raise funds for Agape, our partner charity in Moldova, by rowing 398km, the distance the river Dniester flows through Moldova. Lockdown meant that could not happen in school, but, undeterred, the group undertook the challenge by using whatever exercise equipment they had available at home. The challenge was more than met, with the group covering close to 500km in total. Some of the money raised will be used to help buy plant seedlings and livestock for families in Moldova as they struggle to cope with the impact of coronavirus in what is the poorest country in Europe.
